The Como Wardrobe

We’d love for the weekend wardrobe to feel as thoughtful and beautiful as the setting itself—elevated and inspired by the romance of Lake Como. Each event carries its own distinct mood and aesthetic, and we’ve shared the vision below to help guide your looks throughout the celebration.

Boat Party Attire

Elevated Resort Attire

For our evening on the lake, we’re embracing an elevated resort aesthetic inspired by the effortless elegance of Lake Como—polished and thoughtfully styled, while still feeling relaxed and easy.

Color palette: Navy, dusty blue, cream, soft neutrals, and olive green, inspired by the lake and surrounding landscape.

For the ladies: Breezy dresses, flowing silhouettes, jumpsuits, linen sets, and elevated separates.

For the gentlemen: Dress pants paired with long-sleeved button-down shirts are encouraged. Relaxed suit or blazer—worn traditionally or styled more casually —are especially welcome. Ties not needed.

Wedding Day Attire

Dolce Vita–Inspired Black Tie

For our wedding celebration, we’re embracing a Dolce Vita–inspired Black Tie aesthetic—elegant, romantic, and refined. We envision looks that feel timeless yet soft, inspired by the natural beauty and tones of Lake Como in early fall.

For the ladies: Flowing gowns and elegant silhouettes are encouraged. Think chiffon, silk, and other airy fabrics that move beautifully. Floral prints, soft textures, and warm earthy or gilded tones are warmly welcomed. Given the historic pathways and gravel throughout Villa del Balbianello, we recommend elegant footwear suitable for walking the grounds.

For the gentlemen: Black tie attire is requested. This includes a traditional tuxedo, black bow tie, formal white dress shirt, and formal shoes.

We encourage guests to embrace refined silhouettes, effortless tailoring, and understated textures and details. To complement the atmosphere of the celebration, we kindly suggest avoiding overly embellished looks and heavy sequins.
